My Starion station wagon

Post by www.18u »

LOL
I bought this off ebay for $500  It was the previous owners fathers car until he passed away :( and had owned it for 14 years. It had a reconditioned motor 19,000kms ago (with all reciepts) and has a new clutch and aircon that has been converted. Once he passed away it was driven to Sydney and was put in a paddock next to his house for the last year. I can't believe that it has no rust in any of the doors or sills.

After picking it up today i took it straight to Meeks, and chucked it on the hoist so we could change the gearbox and diff oils. After a good inspection it appears that everything is in good working order, so im going for a blue slip next week then it will be my new daily to and from work rofl I have started transplanting the of all my Starion bits in but i will post more picks tomorrow.

That will be definately interesting ride with a starion engine in it.

My oldies had a green high roof wagon when I grew up & I learned to drive in it. That brown interior trim brings back memories.

- I rolled the tyre off the LH rear rim going too fast around a corner rofl
- It was slow. The mechanic worked out that the secondary (vacuum operated) throttle plate was seized from disuse! It gives you some idea on how slowly my oldies drove it for 200+Kkms.

Good luck. Remember to get a scorpion jap diff when the borg warner original dies.

I spent the whole day working on it.
Adjusted the tappets, changed all the fuel and vacuum lines, cleaned the carby, changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, engine oil and got it running so well.
I put it on the trailer to store at my mates property, and when we got there i drove it off the trailer. I went to put it in a space between some trees where you cannot see it from the road, but it ran out of fuel :(
So i put the handbrake on and put it in gear and locked it. i walked to my Jeep and heard a funny noise and turned around to see my car rolling down the hill at a stupidly fast rate :o There was nothing i could do but wait for the bang. End result is one written off Sigma  The handbrake was on but it didn't seem to be in gear.

Im so sad right now, and really don't know what to do with it.
The radiator is touching the motor and it really doesn't look good.

Thanks guys for the support  I still can't believe it has happened

Im not sure, they are very few and far between now and i spoke to a panel beater about it and he said its not worth fixing. I may pull the motor and box out or i will leave it under cover and wait for another 1.
I really am shattered even though its only $500
