Have fitted up my rebuilt struts. They certainly look the part and should do the trick.

I will get a few more pics up of them fitted.

Height adjustability is great and the guy who rebuilt the shocks said they are really good quality factory struts and shocks. Murray Coote worked out the seats and springs, his work is top shelf. The big bonus is they work out at half the cost of doing the same thing from scratch.

Very very nice - me like :) What spring rates did you go for? I take it the struts have been rebuilt for inserts?

Yes - Noltec.

I have had all the struts dynoed and needed to rebuild one. They are the original SHP Mitsubishi (KYB) strut assembly with coil over spring assembly. I have gone 300lb in the rear and 350lb in the front. This is slightly heavier than what Murray C. suggested but feel it should be fine (rather go a lit firmer and not worry so much about bump stop and strut travel).

The 8 way adjustable shockies are top quality along with the King springs and height adjustable sleeves, is every thing I will need for my application. The fronts also give me added clearance for tyre/rim fitment which was a little bit of a squeeze with the original dia spring seats.

I was given mates rates and a bit of stuffing around but it cost me less than 2k for the complete set including rebuilt shockie. I guess a figure of roughly 2k if all your struts were in good order.

was the original spring perch cut off and a new one used or just cut down?
i would really like to know where to get the threaded sleeves and springs for myself?

the original was taken off and new ones welded on. I will get a couple of detailed close up pics for you. You can I understand just buy the threaded sleeve. Make sure you buy the fine v thread tube not the square threaded type as it binds up easily so I have been told. The rear struts had a special top spring mount made up for my application as I didn't have top pillow mounts and will eventually get adjustability via lower control arms.

Looking good groupAralliart :beer

Heres a pic of my EBay speaicls lol They came as a kit with spring, keeper springs, and square threaded type sleeves, and yes they do bind up a little. But I think thats got more to do with the fact the sleeves are made from alloy.
Ive used the KYB AGX shocks for the rear of a MR2.
These shocks are about an inch shorter than the factory ones. So Ive shortened the strut tubes, Which should keep the shocks in the "Meat" of there travel as the car will be sitting 2-4 inches lower.
I hope that makes sence.

Very nice. The only issue I might have down the track is that the front ride height will be limited as the stock shocks don't have a heap of travel and bump stops are quite big (I needed to put new ones in as the originals fall apart) I will find that out when the engine is lowered into the engine bay.

Question: are you building the 'flatey' up as a track/show car and keeping your 'widey' stock?
