Awesome work, you have to love the subtle difference it makes to the way the engine revs.
And thanks for the images.

I didn't expect many to understand the old school V8 abbreviations:

Small Block
Big Block ;)

had to work all saturday, so not much progress this weekend.

however, the water pump pully is made and fitted.
so, on went the radiator, filled it with water.
re-routed the oil cooled hoses, fitted the last bit of intercooler piping.
was about to fire it up and dp some tuning,
and,
noticed a pool of water under the car! :(
a brass elbow i had for the heater circuit was leaking.
it was a brazed 2 piece thing and it had not been done properly :x
maybe next weekend

Ok, fixed the water leaking problem (I think).
Had it running on tuesday (still on axle stands though).
found another problem :x

The ecu is showing trigger errors, which announce themselves by the engine stumbling or stopping altogether. the problem is the way I modified the CAS trigger disk for the wolf dual pulse system.
The short of it is I will have to get the disk out of the CAS and modify it etc. and I expect it will be one of those *#*@* deals.

On a brighter note, despite these issues, the tuning is comming along nicely. The VR4 manifold and sequential injection is SO MUCH BETTER than the horrible old DASH manifold. To give some indication of this, with the old setup, the transient throttle enrichment had to be set at about 700% enrichment to get a decent throttle response to snap throttle operation. Now, with the sequential setup, 25% seems to work (and gives a much better response). So I guess I can expect better fuel economy from it and less plug fouling.

The CAS will be attacked tomorrow.

Why do you have to modify the CAS a Haltech will trigger off the stock one fine? I am honestly suprised you have to modify this :?

mrb1, because I have an early firmware version of V4, which I dont think supports sync and ref type signalling. The later firmware does.
So, to save myself some trouble (???), I decided to stick with the Wolf dual pulse system of triggering.

Also, the VR4 trigger disk is not a simple/normal sync and ref system.
It has 2 unequal pulse length sync signals, which is why MoTeC and Autronic had to make a special trigger firmware to read them.
I assume Haltec have had to do the same.
This is why spending the extra $$$ on a MoTec is a good idea, these kind of issue just are not a problem.

Hmmm... memory is a bit rusty on that one. I remember we did Eric Pertila's groupA VR4 rally car 16 years ago? Ok I will have a look at mine

Perhaps a L300 timing disc would fit straight in? However I guess that still does not help with your Wolf.
