What advice u looking 4? Ocean fish or river?? I usually go ocean so this may be of no relevance to you watatsoever.
Best fishing spots on a boat is to find a clear spot in the middle of lots of seaweed, as the fish feed in these spots, find a largish sandy piece of ocean floor amoungst weeds and cast into it.
Water generally deeper than 5 meters, if u have a sonar system look for an uneven bottom or dropoffs in the ocean floor, abnormally high sections such as a reef or rocks work great, wrecks also.
Bait - cockles or u can dig into seaweed and the sand / grit under it to find worms, they quite good for whiting, if u catch a squid keep the to long feeler - tenticles as bait.
Gps is a good way to relocate spots were you have previously met success.
Slightly rougher weather is better for fish than dead calm, summer is better again.
For crabs, keep ur crappy fish such as trumpeter & leather jacket and shove them on the crab net, this never fails if there are crabs around to be cought.
Umm cant think of ne other simple things offhand

Cookie's wife said if he got a boat it had to have a toilet it in. We showed her a bucket and rope but it just didnt seem to cut it with her. No spirit of the great outdoors our 'nette. LOL
Still an inside dunny is a small price to pay for a new toy I s'pose.

Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.
