nice project , good to see that you saved one from being parted out , as long as its structurally sound a bit of rust and dents here and there is nothing . good luck with the project . :beer

The old ja doesnt look that bad , would be another good base for a project , the rusty original ones arent to bad its the ones that have been got at before are the ones that u need to stay away from :D

Update time, again only a small one

Front bar has been sanded and we've sprayed it with undercoat, just need to fill in some minor nicks and she'll be ready for another coat

Put the rio bar back in to get it sitting straight, used all brand new stainless bolts, to make it last a bit longer

Also took the nosecone off the parts car and attacked it with the grinder/sandblaster, will post pics when its done

Hopefully now that christmas is over and my worklife isnt so drastic, I can get stuck into it and get things done more quickly.

Cheers, matty

Wasnt worth saving, Had rust holes in it. Underside of it was quite bad along the leading edge.

because the cars are as rare as rocking horse shit and to find a drivers side door glass or a rear hatch etc will only be possible if you can locate a wreck. This wreck is going to the scrap heap as would most and being nearly 30 years old and not loved by many they are disappearing quickly. I have a full set of glass parts stored for the unexpected or repair. You will find it either impossible or expensive to buy these parts in the near future I am sure.

so what you mean to say is that the glass is ALREADY hard to find.. I was just wondering if something was changing soon that's gonna make it even harder..

how do you remove the glass from the doors btw? is the only way to cut open the door?

i will be taking the hatch and hopefully the door glass from my parts car before i scrap it.. the front i'm pretty sure will break if i try to remove it.. woulda been nice though as the glass on my jb has developed a tiny crack

the door glass is a case of 2 simple screws to remove.

the rear quarter glass is worth removing aswell, 10mm nut at the rear and front corners, and soak some carby cleaner into the black adhesive and get a spatula and carefully prise it away..

ive heard this car is going to be running soon, converting back to a stock JB engine setup with new injectors.

Should save some cash to do the bodywork.
JB front bumper
Widebody airdam replica from Redzone
Aerotech sideskirts thanks to TOMSUN
and hopefully JD rear wing kit.
wheels???
then car resprayed.
