new fuel system and piping

Post by ukstariont3 »

well,
been busy for the pas few months, getting my american 2.6 fuel system to fit my 2ltr- not any probs at all- apart from a lamba sensor needing weling in my exhaust and the air temp sensor put into my over-valve-cover pipe.
had a few issues with the fuel pump relay not switching, so the fuel pump would not run, so i rewired it in 2.5mm cable, via a switched relay. i changed to a walbro 255 lph pump aswell.
and now i have a map sensor- the crap airbox is binned in favour of a 90 deg bend straight into my carbon airbox- should flow nice.
also , the pipe that routed around the airbox, no comes from the turbo- 90 deg and nearly straight through to the intercooler.
we tried welding a boss for the air temp into the standard pipe, but i was not happy as the metal looked weak, so i picked up a hard pipe kit from a lad near me who had purchaced it from the US but could not fit it as the power steering resivior was in the way- an issue i do not have as i already got one from an 2.6 which mounts on the suspension turrett rather than next to the ex manifold.

heres a few pics, and i would love to hear your comments/ suggestions.

fuelinjectionpro fuel comp- uses megasquirt

uprated injector top hat, 1025cc injectors, bosch fpr, pressure guage-40 psi running

escort cosworth rally spec t34- 360 thrust bearing etc- top notch turbo. carbon air box- better than that mixing bowl.

rofl
also notice the power steering resivior on the side near the heat shield.

looking good??? over cam cover pipe looks the part- tidy

just another view.

well, its coming along- needs mapping etc, so i will keep you all posted.

Like your work, certainly well laid out and you would be a proud boy when opening the bonnet on that.
