@Flav, just what you said, it looks like it :D I find out that the thermostat housing was to small when the activator kicked in. The waterflow was to small which caused the engine to heat up. I've got a other housing which is much bigger so that the activator can move freely. As mentioned before it works great!

Good one Merlin.
I cant wait to see this engine bay when it is done.
If it looks half as good as your dash did,
it will be the sharpest DOHC around!
More pics?

How did you run the heater hoses? Do you have a water outlet on your manifold?

RE: remote thermostat. I had a similar setup on my old EFI 2.6. There was a problem where it would get overly hot before the thermostat opened up fully and then return to normal temperature. Hot to the point of blowing water out the radiator overflow (no catch tank).
I suspect this was due to a cool pocket of water between the hot water in block and thermostat. Solution was simple - drill small hole (3-4mm) in thermostat to allow a small constant flow of water. Problem solved.

Something to remember if you have the same problems.

I wouldnt be surprised if the engine didnt overheat before the thermostat opened... thats a long distance away... and usually when its in close proximity to the intake manifold the temperature from, that helps it open pretty well.

there are 2 holes in the thermostat, primarily for air bleed, but they will flow some water.
however, note that the heater feed point is taken from the thermostat housing, so there will be plenty of water flow past there.
