I wanted to get your post back up there again too!

Did you get the Haltek into it?

Do you still own said orange beast?

MPI with a decent (ie greater than 60mm diameter) throttle body will gain spool down low and power up high, and a modern well tuned ecu will make it drive a heap nicer and be more consistent.. it is a very good thing to do if you plan on keeping your starion :beer

plus the TD06H 20G and 25G turbo's with the evo3 style rear housing means we dont necessarily need a custom exhaust manifold to get 300rwhp anymore..

If that's the case then my intercooled Evo3 turbo, professionally ported stock exhaust manifold & TR/TS Magna TB & plenum on L300 inlet & head, tuned with an old-school ECU should yield close to 200rwkw at 15psi. Right...?
And if not, the only variables to achieve that would be choice of TB & plenum & perhaps wastegate setting. Yup?

evo3 turbo will need a lot more than 15psi to make 200rwkw..

TD06 is a fair amount larger than a TD05

What about at 20psi? It's the 2.4 head, graphite gasket and ARP studs. 2.5" exhaust and bluetop injectors. Though that said, I'll probably be pushing to get 180rwkw with the 450cc units...

im curious about this myself.. put down some decent power with a single cam so bravo for that. if i was to run a fmic, 3" intake, 3" exhaust and l300 or modified sonata manifold with 70mm ford TB, 550cc injectors and a aftermarket ecu im sure to get more then 200rwkw on say 15psi? lets say enough to spin second while drifting around a track?

you don't need 200rwkw to spin the wheels in 2nd. It's not power that will cause your wheels to break traction, it's torque. If the torque (force) turning the wheel is greater than the friction (again, force) between the tyre and the ground, you spin the wheels.

I could easily spin the wheels in my mate's old 253 powered bommadore in 2nd and it made perhaps 100rwkw I would suspect. It had good torque and was hence a fun car on the street, even if not that quick in reality.

also, you can have 4" everything 1800cc injectors, huge turbo and tb, but your motor will only make as much power as the bottle neck will allow - in this case, the concensus seems to be that the l300 manifold is a severe bottle neck - the sonata one not as much.
