Those guards have been played with quite extensively before copping a tonne of sweet white colour.
Reduce fuel costs by 15-20% & cut emissions by 1/3rd...
Increase engine performance & prolong engine life...

RZ: I've lost track of it in the last few year alas... Those photos are from a few years ago, when it was at a company called "Import Parts" here in ChCh. AFAIK It's still owned by someone there... I should really head in and ask again... Last bit of info I heard was that it's getting a DOHC transplant.

The history I've heard is that it was the sister car to Kevin Bartlett's race car, this is the one that was used for all the development...

Everything is hearsay however, but one thing is certain, it looks blooooody mean. Its a large part of the reason i reckon a well sorted narrowbody will always look better than a widebody, heh :)

Must really get around to finding another starion... Need to get my Mini done and on the road so I can start another project... I'd cop the mother-load of ear-fulls from the Mrs if I bought anopther project.

Yeah haven't seen it in a few years either, or used Import Part Specialists.
Its only a couple of kms along the road from here to, will try to stop and see if the Carters still own it.

I might ask KB about it.. i think it may be one of the actual cars, and they mostly have disappeared. the one bob riley has is apparently a rally car.

im just waiting for the paint to dry and i will put the car back together and post some more pictures to night.

UPDATE:

intercooler is in , piping is in , front it on

It is 100% better than it was , now there is no more air leaks so it needs a tune badly.
I will go see if i can get it tuned next saturday fingers crossed! and i need a black rubber pipe for the throttle body too.

Stealth is best! :beer

Will the front strut bar still bolt on properly with the pipework on the passenger side sitting up how it does Glen?

Cannot remember whether the car had one...

Why'd you swap out the Momo for a Nardi? Every mx5 has a nardi wheel...

i got the car tuned today !

made 270hp atw @16psi around 8000rpm

i have also maxed out the injectors so i will find some 550cc ones to put in.

I should see 300hp+ on 20psi but will just have to wait and see.

i will put up the dyno sheet later

260rwhp is a perfect amount for a street driven car that weight, add more and it will become less fun to drive on the street! my gem gets a fair bit of wheelspin at that level but its fun, with over 300 it's unuseable, and slower cars will pass you while you're spinning everywhere!
