Hitchy's Staz almost finished.

Post by Hitchy »

Hi Guys,

Thought I post of few pics of my starion which is nearly completed hope you enjoy. Trying to keep it stock as, with exception to a few slight changes to suspension a lick of paint to some components (wheels, brakes etc).

Image
This a picture taken not long after i picked it up in march 2008, when finished the factory wheels will be black and decals will be removed and replaced with those of the japanese models (i.e no turbo stickers everywhere)

Image
Front Struts, Pedders Sportsryder Shocks (same insert as Galant/Sigma) with King 30mm lowered springs, white line 24mm sway bar, K-mac adjustable strut tops, flash orange paint for calipers!!!

Image
Front end completely repainted in gloss black, fitted with pedders polyurethane bushes throughout. Rebuilt steering box, all new seals.

Image
Underneath cleaned up and given coat of sound deadener, still need exhaust fitted, have fitted new clutch (Valeo H/Duty), new clutch slave cylinder, new uni joints and gearbox mount.

Image
Complete repaint of all rear suspension gloss black again, Pedders sportsryder shocks (same as front, shimmed up to fit in strut), King 30mm lowered springs, Whiteline 21mm sway bar and more flash orange paint on calipers.

Haven't got photos yet but have re-trimmed rear boot and parcel shelves, re-done centre console in brushed aluminium panels with carbon fibre/ composite stowage slot under head unit.

will put more pics up when it's finished, still have engine bay to complete i am fitting a watercooled JB TC05/06 Turbo, match ported manifold and 'Wade' Ralliart turbo spec regrind cam and a slight increase boost to give it some more herbs.

Hope you like, getting very excited about it's completion!

Cheers,

Hitchy

Thanks Rice Thief,

The body is not bad at all, got a few shopping centre dings spread around it, has a slight crease in L/hand door that i cant get to because of intrusion bar, has got a little rust in bottom of both front guards, and r/hand door and in the top corners of fire wall but that is all almost fixed.

Mechanically it has needed a bit of work, but just about it all done now, wont be a lot left on it that hasn't been, checked, replaced or rebuilt. She should be a very reliable workhorse to get me to and from work with a bit of fun on the side!!!!

Cheers.

Well every once in a while something pops up in this show unannounced and unexpected and blows you away - and this is one of those moments. Well done Hitchy, its obviously been a labour of love and your attention to detail in refurbing this old girl is outstanding.

Congrats and I hope the driving part rewards your efforts. :beer

Great work! Very pleased to see the attention to detail for the restoration. :)

Actually, at times I feel like a dumb pr%#k for bringing in the odd rare Starion model from Japan, thinking somebody in the
Starion community will buy it to finish off restoring it!

This effort has renewed my faith!!
