Sorry if this one has been discussed previously,

Does anyone know who (apart from simmons) actually makes wheels to suit our cars.
Most tyre shops will look up the fitment chart, see no starion listings and say "sorry cant help you".

I would be keen to know what others have found.

I am talking about 4 stud as it appears 5 stud cars have a little more choice.

Like I said sorry if has already been bought up but Im new here.

Yep stacks of 4x114.3 but what has a 17-20mm offset

BMW is close but has 4x100

Any ideas

I guess that R30 & 31 skylines might be a similar offset - can anyone confirm.

Ok now for some stupid questions:

Which measurement is actually the offset?
What effect does having a mag wheel with a smaller or larger offset have?

Speedy Hyperfang 2's and BSA 248's which TMZ_99 has on his car.

Speedy Has another wheel that will fit too but any of the speedy range will need to be bought blank and then drilled but the wheel place looks after that.

r31 skylines have the same pattern and offset, thats all i know of, maybe sprinters aswell but they could be the wrong pattern.

Offset is the measurement from the center of the wheel to where it mounts onto the hub, ie 0 offset would have the hub right in the middle of the wheel, +18mm (what the starion has) has it sitting 18mm towards the outside. So if you try to fit a common FWD offset like +40 on it, it has the effect of moving the wheel further inward as the mounting point is further towards the outside of the wheel.

If you have someone who can buy from japan, there are a fair few wheels available from yahoo auctions on the cheap.

Oh and speedy sell a couple that fit, one set was sold on here recently.

I think some RWD Levins(sprinters) have the same stud pattern and similar offset, Ive seen Levins with Starion wheels but not the other way around - but then why would you bother anyway.

Thought so.

I imagine if you found a mag wheel whos offset is larger, you could run a wider mag and tyre (provided you don't hit the inside panel behind the wheel).

Oh yeah and Toyota's of that age are 4x100, same with Honda and most Nissans.

Spacers may be an idea if its only a few mm.

i really have to get around to finding out if the spacers we can make are legal (basically its a thicker spacer with 4 studs on it) so i can but something like this

can u make them 4 stud to 5 stud converted spacers?

possibly, but it would involve extending one stud then doing the normal thing for the other 4, but some of the holes might be too close together. It is easy to change to any 4 stuf pcd tho.

On the old forum I listed a very wide rangeof every model car that would possibly have wheels that would fit the Starion. I won't do it again as it is too long and I don't have the list anymore.

But, R30 31 skyline wheels will fit. Any wheel off a Datsun (from 1000 to mid 1980's 300Zx's) will fit. Any rwd Toyota Celica, Corolla and Corona (including AE86 Sprinter) will fit. Most should have an offset that is close if not the same.

There are plenty of others that have the 114.3 x 4 PCD but have the incorrect offset, so spacers or hub spacers are needed (same as CussCuss pic).

nice, just find out the legalaties now, I thought spacers were legal as long as they were secured somehow (not free-floating)..

hmm, yeah, I think they would be plenty of 4x100 wheels avaiable, what would it change the offset to?

The hub spacers can be bought anywhere from 10mm to 30mm thick. The effect of this would be to increase your car's track (if you use the same offset wheels) or to allow you to use more common FWD offset wheels while retaining the same track width.

Sorry Nxtime, Datsun wheels wont just bolt up. You need to buy different wheel nuts to suit starion thread and nissan holes (I know, weird) I tried a set of 240Z rims and no go. But the rim fits on the stusm, that's about it.
