Thinking about a spoiler, GT type.
The hatch won't stay red obviously, blue like the rest of the car.
Is it too much?

Looks fine. Nice sharp angles on it match the design and look of the car nicely I reckon.

It would need to be moved forward a couple of inches. It's not as large or high as some I have seen and won't look too bad :)

looks good, but can u move it forward enough so it doesnt hang over the back of the car?

Can't really go forward atm cos of the shape of the hatch and I don't want to make any other brackets (me = lazy)
And the wiper is in the way at the moment. But I'll get rid of it, doesn't work anyway. POS car.
Might just whack some self tappers in and see what it looks like for real and in the mirror. :?

How are you going to attach it? Doesn't the glass extend all the way to the end of the fibreglass rear section? It does on my hatch.

how did u attatch the rear part of the wrap around cooks? did u shave the bolts off?

Yeah shaved the bolts off... and glue, glue and more glue.

From memory, the glass continues to the back, but the curved hatch lip is empty underneath it with a gap of about an inch (depending how far back you go), so tapping some screws into it is possible.

It's only thin fibreglass. I'd be sceptical how strong tapped screws would be.

I have one of them.. as mentioned, it needs some kind of adaption to get it to sit back a bit further on the hatch because of the shape of it (hence the paint-stirrers sitting under mine).



Screws through the hatch would be fine - just use some large washers beneath the heads to spread the load.

A little bit stronger than glue :D

HCCA: How do you screw that spoiler on? You can't screw it on from underneath the hatch as far as I can tell.

NXTIME: Not the amount of glue I used... :)

Haven't actually screwed it on yet, but the glass ends before where the screws need to go through so I can't see a problem. It sits on the flatter part of the hatch (no glass there unless the glass has a cool angle bent into it).

Sorry, should have explained better. Spare hatch is on the car so I will just bang some self tappers in and see what happens. The glass is flat so there should be some room where the screw go in. The other hatch I will take apart and put bolts thru from underneath and fibreglass them in or something (haven't thought that far ahead yet) Or attach the brackets, do up the bolts, then re-attach the glass over the top.
