These guys are locals and they are into making custom fibreglass parts...

If there are enough people interested I'm sure they could come up with a very cool bar (and side skirts) for a resonable price. :D

So who would be interested??? I'm not asking for money for 100% commitment (yet) but just a show of hands to see if there is enough interest. Well???

I can't say i'm a big fan of seeing square/angular things (ie a starion) turned into rounded things at the bottom.

Reminds me of ppl putting VT commodore front bars onto VH commonwhores.

The car is angular, i think it should be kept this way or it would look weird.

I tell you what 180sx front bar would go well withe staz's edges and give you a nice cooler opening? why the darth vader 180sx front bar, nice and squre and muscley just like a staz from the nose back heheh.

not the cleanest example of the kit i've seen nicer versions than this version but it's an idea :) http://www.sr20tuning.com/newcar.html

eek *shakes head*

Still too round i reckon. It really needs someone with a lot of time on their hands to sit down and work with some angles and ideas on paper first and design a new front bar from scratch, as there isnt a lot of bars which would actually go on a starion nicely. If you work with a picture of side, front and top views and add in ideas from there maybe we can get a few designs together and see what people think of it. It would cost less than getting a bar, making it fit and seeing what it looks like.

going to all that effort you may as well design a bar from scratch in auto cad or similar. then get it made. Might cost a lil more though you will get something that's made for the car. not a big $$$ mod job. I've seen custom bars made, alot of the big f/glass co's do them. Though you will be without your car for awhile.

Something subtle, not too ricey! Autocad was a good idea, if someone is half decent with Cad we coud throw up our suggestions! As for not haveing the car for a while, am I wrong in assuming a lot of you guys have more then one stazz!? Working or not, I'm sure you could live without one for a week or two! For the greater good I mean!? But, yeah, I'm in!

yep

also sorry to keep an old topic going but figure its better than starting a new one on the same topic.

Has anyone checked what other cars have similar front bar dimensions that could be modified to fit the staz?
I'm thinking something like an AE86 Treuno front bar or similar. After all the AE86 was also designed by a ruler so figure that style might work for us if it fitted
