Engine Bay Paint

Post by SpidersWeb »

Since the engine will be out soon, along with all the elecs

I may as well paint the engine bay.

Since its not a big point, I just want a vauge colour, so am just going to clean her up, paint over it using spray cans, and see what happens.

Do I need heat paint, or will normal paint be fine? If I need heat paint, what temperature?

my mate painted the engine bay of his VH in 'chook shit', which is good at hiding mess and oil etc and wont chip easily. More info is on the page. I don't think it's heat resistant

I painted my engine bay with the same paint thats used on the rest of my car... don't have any problems.. None of it has melted or showed signs of wear besides above the carby where flames/fuel have gone against the inside of the hood (long story, carby occasionally sets fire to the air cleaner...)
