Anyone here removed the sticky out piece that runs the length of the bumper in the middle? I believe this is the only flaw on the exterior and going to have a go at hacking it off and covering it up.
Anyone have any pics of this done before?

just finished painting the ja and thought about it but didn`t do it
i`d like to see one done

I think it's not a separate piece and can't be removed as such. A guy called burton on 2.6liter.com has done a mod and filled in the gaps and made it all one. I'll see if I caj find out more later.

I was going to do these in fibreglass without the lump but I didn't sell many of the jb front bumpers so I never bothered. I wouldn't recommend cutting up the memory plastic bar cover it always looks terrible as the edges you cut tend to peel up..

I think the only way you could successfully do it would be to flop a fibreglass copy of the original bumper and then modify from there. I'm maybe the only one who thinks they look good stock - especially when done in a contrasting matt black.
Doing it in fibreglass would also allow you to get rid of the factory waviness.

Yeah that's the way to go Anthony, & getting rid of the waviness was a motive for sure

MrBishi, I agree with you, I quite like the stock rear bumper.

Mines wavey and has the contrasting black stick out bit.
Don't mind the wave, for what I'm building its not going to matter. I just want the bar to look good in my eyes.

Signed up and had a gander. Does look much better, however I don't think I'll be mounting a front spoiler on the rear bumper

Well...if you got half an old one lying around...why not!

I like it the way it is. I wouldnt consider removing it

Or you could just paint it....

I must admit it did help when some 'moron' ran up the back of me at a set of lights ( low speed ) - hardly a scratch - must have absorbed some impact ( + their front end I guess)
