i'm so depressed over this..

i can't seem to upload pics today, so i'll just describe the damage

On thursday the 23rd of July, I bought myself a lovely JB (the one Boner had advertised on here and on ebay). On Friday night, less that 24 hours of me owning the car, a lady reverses into it while it is parked.. PARKED!!

My friend hears it and we come out.. the woman managed to scrape the front bumper (JB bumper with foggies.. been looking for one of these for ages), but it doesn't look like it got damaged.. just needs to be repainted. By the look of things, she was reversing quite quickly, because her car pretty much went on top of mine..

the edge of the nose cone under the headlamp is warped backwards, and the front of the quarter panel is bent in. the indicator still works, but the plastic is bent :(

when i bought the car, the driver's side headlamp had some issues - it doesn't always go down. luckily for me, after i parked it, it refused to go down, so i just left it up.. had it gone down, it would have been damaged too.. so i that cloud had a silver lining.

The car looked so good when i bought it.. all the lines were good and straight.. panel gaps were really good.. freshly painted car (not full bare metal, just sprayed over in some places where the old paint was still ok).. so i am really unhappy that this happened..

i hope to find a panel beater that will give it the respect it deserves, and try and straighten the panels properly and use minimal bog..

any help/recommendations would be much appreciated

Bad luck dude.
A short time after I had my JB painted it was reversed into when parked scraping paint on the bumper. Then a couple of months later it got hail damaged!
Shit happens and it can be fixed. Don't feel too bad - not your fault. Are you getting any coin from the offender?

yeah, their insurance is paying for it.. the quote from a local smash repairs was roughly 2k.. but i don't know these guys, and i'm not sure i wanna hand the car over to just anyone..

the other fear is that the insurance company might just want to write it off after seeing the cost of repairs.. and i don't want that to happen

Hey Thrash,

Sorry to hear about the bad-luck!

I got my car resparayed and re-aligned at a place in Campsie. Two-pac though. Happy with results after 4 years...

Ask for top job, and I think he will provide for a reasonable price. Just mention the black Starion. His details are
Ziad Mawassi
9a Loch St
Campsie 2194
Ph.9591 5667
0416 374 760

Then again, most places will do good work especially if you strike up a good rapport with them. Check out a few places
locally and have a chat to see what reaction you get. Then organise to get the work done asap!!!

:beer Mal
PS. I believe Vulpes can provide you with a right guard if you need.

thanks mal for the info!

don't need a guard - the one on it is just bent, but very much fixable. Might need an indicator though.. will see after they take it off. I don't wanna touch any of the damage yet.

such a shame too.. the grill and indicators on this one were PERFECT :glare:
