if anything he is warning you of what could happen... he's just saying about the copywrite issues... If anything make the front bar 10% sexier and there will be no probs with anyone anywhere. it will be a sexier bar and cheaper as well. its not a personal thing against you, he's just a very law abiding individual :P

well if your guy is making a new mould from it, i don't mind helping with some concept to make it look different. maybe you could get suggestions from people who already own it if they think there can be any further improvements. why make a copy when u can make something better?

strion, I think you missed the whole point of WANTSOM's post. He put forward a very logical and informative post aimed at assisting you in the legalities of the reproduction/copy of bar that Coltspeed is selling. He also suggested that if[/] there was a patent on it then you could possibly have a legal suit. He isn't bagging you out, but rather, offering free advice so that this point of view is known to you and everyone else, and so that you are aware of this issue. We can't possibly know what you have or have not found out unless you tell us.
As for Coltspeed charging more than what your contact can supply them for, I believe that Ron would have had to make a mould of the original bar and then make a batch of the bars all at his own expense. This involves a certain degree of risk, not to mention that he has a business to run.
Now, if you were to modify the bar and make it based on a JB bar, then I am sure that you will get plenty of people buying them.

any way, those side skirts do look very nice, and even tho rounded at the back still suit the starion some how.. although if everyone goes and buys them they arent going to be too special any more.. just like all of the front bars around now, first they looked good cos there wasnt many seen, now they are every where :roll:
well if they arnt to your suiting then the guy can modify them so they dont come up at the back ....and or dont come out on the sides....plain n flat....i you like that???
