Widebody wheels

Post by Lunacy »

Hey all
I am goin to get some widebody wheels for my JD and am just wondering whether to get the 7" ones on front and 8" on back or 8s on front and 9s on back. Are there any probs with fitting the 9" wide ones on the rear?
Cheers

It's not a JD, it's an EX. JD is a specification for Aussie cars only.

Pretty sure the wheels will fit, if you want you can drive it to Gisborne and try mine on to be sure ;)

the ideal combination is 7" fronts and 8" fronts off the SHP wheels as they are both +18 offset. 8" or 9" rear wheels will stick out too far.

The official word is *maybe*. Have a chat to "BILTEL"if you can track him down, he's running widebody wheels on his narrowbody race car. He sometimes posts on here, but ive seen him on the Lancerregister (ex2000 section) also.

The 7" fronts will be tad to far under the guards from pictures i've seen, so i'd plan for some spacers there. The 8" rears should fit without to many issues, if they rub just get things rolled out a little. Widebody wheels on a narrowbody makes for the best looking staz combination possible i rekon :). Good luck!

Oh, and your a dick for buying that car, i wanted it! Treat her well or im coming after you with a 9-iron, garbage bag and cement. ;).

Dam dont wanna have to get spacers if i can avoid it, 2 much hassle with WOFs. But dammit i want those wheels!!!!!

Anyone else know bout any spacing probs with these wheels?

Oh yeah dont worry shes gonna get lots of nice treatment, new clutch has just gone in, boost controllers next as soon as i get back from work and theres even a VR4 head sittin in my garage that may get some use later on

the fronts are 7" with an 18 offset, jb/jd wheels are 6.5" with an 18 offset, there will be no problems with the fronts. The rears will be questionable, if you roll the guards they will definately fit, they may fit without rolling
