fixed racing seats legal???

Post by R3D »

most fixed types are narrower than reclining types, and the previous owner got reclining racing style seats but didnt fit due to hitting the roll bar

btw this is and 80 ce lancer with a rollcage not a staz :P so theres little room :/

so are fixed type a defect of not?

and theese 70's - 80's style racing seats are getting really uncomfortable

I read somewhere that you have to remove the back seat and re-register your car as a two seater.

Over here in NZ you need to have to front seats moving so the people in the rear can get out in an emergency, otherwise it's a two seater.

But on the rego papers it will say seating capacity - 5 or 4. This needs to be changed to 2. But if you have no back seat or belts and nobody goes in there, then I can't imagine it being a problem if you get pulled over.
