HELP! my door trim is falling off

Post by thrash »

My passenger's side door trim is hanging off near where the door opens.. when you open the door, the trim gets stuck against the rear seat surround trim..

I tried changing the little pin thingos that look like chess pawns, but even with the ones from my parts car it doesn't stay on..

how hard/expensive is this to fix?

The door card itself may be rooted and the clips are falling out. Quick fix....self tappers. Once those clips are locked in they are hard to get out....perhaps you're not pressing them in hard enough.

if the clip housings are broken a bit of hot glue or sikaflex will do the job , sometimes also u can hide a small black headed screw in the lower section of the carpet .

do the ones from your parts car not stay on because they're breaking or the actual wood from the door card isnt holding onto them anymore?

I'm using ones from holden, they seem to be a pretty standard thing for interior clips. holden ones were longer but no problems, brand new plastic so not brittle like the old ones.

the clips from my parts car seem fine.. i think it's the actually bits that the pin thingos go into that are no longer holding..

Thanks for the help everyone! I'll figure it out.. been too busy to bother with it for now.
