Hey good to see some1 else wants 1, you can buy a new 1 for $1100 with out the hand controller( threw mine out, well gave it to my son). They really are much easier to tune with a laptop, can supply you a MAP for your new WOLF 3D Ver 4 (PLUS) if you want, best mod you will ever do to your Starion

i'm thinking of an ecu with boost control as well, what does v4(plus) have extra? and why did u setlle on a wolf compared to other comps around the same price range?

rotational idle.. yum.. :D
yes, will love a map as I am also going to use for a VR4 engine.. :D :D
will prob have the wolf (have to buy it new, not many ppl are getting rid of the v4) by mid next month, then to start accumulating the rest of the gear needed for a VR4 conversion. Have to plan out this very well, as the car is going to get painted soon, and the new paint isnt cheap, so have to lay the engine bay out EXACTLY beforehand.
ended up calling SST (our local stockist of wolf).. how easy is it to wire it up urself? there is a sizable $600 difference between the OEM unit and the plug and play ready one for the VR4... also is it worth getting the plus model? will your v4+ maps work on the v4? are you running rotational idle?

the only difference between the Ver4 and the PLUS is the extra inputs X2? and outputs X3-4? as well a being able to control a Delco stepper motor for idle control, ( NOTE will only support 4 wire stepper motors). Really for the extra money for the PLUS it isn't worth it. As previous $1100 without the hand control , good value and the most features that you will use.
Compaired it to a lot of others and value for money i think this is the unit to buy, sure Motec and Autronic are better and so is the price, i have had experience with the Halteck F10A on a subaru and this wasn't as easy to tune( couldn't really get it to run, or idle) with my wolf 30 min and the engine was idleing correctly and could static rev the engine, 4 hr on road and we had a map for the engine ( using Lamda sensor). the only adjustment made my nIc at APC was cold start and 3000-3500 Rpm as this is where the water injection came on. All i can say is to buy it, the suppoet from AEM ( wolf people ) is second to none!
PS Yes my map will work with a std Ver 4 unit.
PSS Yes Steve at SSt is a guru on Wolf use him he is good :beer

As for Steve at SST, have seen a Map he did for Ashley and was very good in set up, have spoken to him about a issue pertaining to the wolf and he was/is very knowledgeable on Wolf systems.
info i can help you with i will supply, am currently doing a web page for the DOHC conversion with help from my brother as he is a guru, may take some time but it will be done for the benifit of others. JUST REMENBER THE VR4 BLOCK IS DIFFERENT TO THE STARION AND WILL NOT BOLT UP TO BELLHOUSING. :beer

i've had my wolf 3dv4 for over 2 years now, and still think for a street staz they are the best value for money.
strongly recomend getting the hand controller though, good virtual dash and brilliant air/fuel meter.
the software is very comprehensive and easy to use.

this is what a v4 costs new:
Wolf3D V4 Dealer kit $1095 (no Hand Controller, temp sensors or manuals)
Wolf3D V4 Hand Controller kit $1395.00 (with Hand Controller, temp sensors and manuals)
And the v4 is very far ahead of the v3, so don't know if 1g is that good a deal
