when i bought the engine it was bare block with head already rebuilt
plan was to put into an 80 lancer coupe to replace the na 1600
couldnt source the efi or a computer so bolted on a carby
have long abandoned the project
just trying to recoup some coin as it's needed atm

O.N.O.

Cordia engine?!?

You won't get that to fit in a starion engine bay with that turbo.

STARION ENGINE!

4 G 6 3 - 2 Litres

not sure on what exactly the turbo came from ?!?
wouldn't imagine a starion would have a smaller engine bay than a lancer though and it did fit inside the lancer

not sure on specs of the rebuild as it was done by the previous owner
if someone is serious then i am happy for them and whoever to inspect.

The problem is that you can also get 4G63's from import Cordias. The Cordia has a smaller bellhousing bolt pattern than Starion - thus the 2 motors are incompatible.
The accessories pictured are cordia FWD specific. Note the turbo faces the wrong way for a RWD application as do the water pipes on the inlet side.
Did this bolt up to the 5 speed in your lancer? If so then it is definetly a Cordia block. Don't despair because I think the FWD 2L block is more sought after - try cordiapower forums.

yes there are likely some cordia bit's n pieces
the guy who i bought it off of said it was a starion 2L though
he had mounted a few bits to put it in his cordia but found it too
difficult to fit - (home mechanic who had two cordia's)
did mate up to where the lancer box shoulda been but the 1600 5spd
was NOT a match so i didn't even have it in there.
i realise the bits n pieces bolted on are a bit random but to my knowledge
the block is def 100% starion -
i have found the 4G63 engine stamp!
if there is any other way to put ur concern at ease let me know
but if u know what ur lookin at and want a starion engine...
(abiet with a few odd bolt ons)
offer what u think it is worth n come round for a looksie

Measure the distance between the two bottom bellhousing bolt holes (the two with the dowels). Only way to tell 100%.

little difficult to measure as there's a clutch in the way but here goes
(rough measurements using pens as guides through the holes)

inside to inside 32cm
outside to outside 34.5cm

___V-----32cm-----V
__O____________O
_^------34.5cm-------^

(sorry for the dodgy pic)

so somewhere in the 33cm mark centre to centre.
is this the correct size for a starion block ??!?

am VERY sure this is worth more than i am asking
but i need the money so i want it gone asap.
if you are truely interested and have the cash
please give me a text/call on 0404 469 034
the first person to make a reasonable offer gets it :)

If only someone could confirm it is a rwd 4g63 for a starion by looking at the pics...I would seriously think about it. From what I have read and seen it does seem like a fwd engine...but, I don't know much anyways. :beer

have PM'd MrBishi as it appears as though he knows for certain based upon the measurments i've taken above.
If anyone else can 100% confirm it is RWD or NOT would be greatly appreciated??!?
don't wanna sell anyone the wrong thing i just need to sell it :)

awaiting someone knowledgable... ;)

Bolt hole spacing indicates a RWD block (starion). However my memory is fuzzy and I'd need to measure a block of my own to confirm 100%.

Heres what I measured as best I could on engine stand. Starion block.
left of ruler starts at bolt hole center, its about 33.5cm center to center.
