Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone out there has an exhaust manifold? One of the bolts in the head let go and over time the manifold has warped. Are they as rare as the cordia ones to find a good one?

Would prefer one in Melbourne, but will look elsewhere if I have to.

Thanks,
Adrian

hey buddy, if it's only warped get it machined should cost no more than $70, sold one to a guy in victoria for $130 and have another one if you want to buy it. :beer

It's warped a fair bit - about 2.5 or 3 mm from end to end. That's a lot of machining, I'm not confident I wouldn't crack something when I bolted it back on.
How much is safe to machine off?

If your sure it's warped that much it would have to be cracked, you may have to look hard to find it, but it will be there. To be on the safe side just lightly file the face to make sure no dings or carbon is giving you the 2-3mm gap, then check with a steel 300mm rular again. Let me know if you want mine. :beer

Hmm, I didn't realise the manifolds are worth that much.

I'll pull the manifold off soon (just checked it with a ruler while i had the head off) and see how bad it is, and if it's cracked.

As an option, how hard would it be to fit a TC05 and manifold off a cordia? It's watercooled, and the manifold should bolt up to the head fine, has anyone else tried this? Just that I've got a spare one in good nick sitting on my old engine, would be a cheaper option maybe...

Thanks for the help guys, really appreciate it :beer
