Coilover interests

Hey guys, I was just wondering how many people would be interested in getting coil overs for their starions?

Because maybe we could pressure D2 or other companies to make these for us, by placing a large order. This would show them that there is a market for them.

I was just wondering. Redzone... Do you think this would help?

Hotbits would be better. They do adjustable rebound, bounce etc already for many of their sets.

I'd prefer hotbits. I've used them before and I was impressed. They also last... two, going on three years on a couple of vr4's.

hot bits can make starion coilovers but they aint cheap, heres what I was told:

Hot Bits does not make an "off the shelf" kit to suit the Starion.
We do however, offer a Coil-Over Kit Conversion , which we require your
standard front struts , to manufacture. The reason for this is the Starion
has an integral stub axle on the strut, which would not be cost effective to
manufacture.
Essentially we machine the stub axle out of the strut and re-make the strut
using our housings and shock absorbers. The rears are completely new
assemblies.
The package is priced at $1765.00.
This kit is valved for use as a "daily driver" and utilises the OE Top Mount
, as not to introduce more road noise into the cabin.

We can also supply Sports Kits , for various applications depending on
intended vehicle purpose ( track , drift , drag , rally etc ) and can also
supply motorsport type adjustable camber/castor top mounts if required.

Sorry, but I must tell you $1700 is actually cheap for brand new Coil overs, with springs etc

Yep definately is.

Hotbits also have adjustable helper springs as an option, remote resevoirs and fully adjustable damp/rebound (16 setting each). They are also height adjustable and you can get noltec adjustable strut tops.

Me likies.

well i know that a couple of the us guys are pressuring D2 to make them..

hot bits ones at $1765 is cheap enough, i might have to give them a call. could be a good prospect for a group buy! as long as they`re externally (easily) damper adjustable, 16 ways is plenty u dont necessarily need 32 way adjustment, i already have a pair of noltec adjustable strut tops here so i have that covered..

we should maybe start a coil overs "roll call" just copy the list & add your name if ur keen!

There is a groupbuy for a LOT of hotbits stuff going over on Team4g.com. I can get you guys sets of coilovers but we're just finalising the price.

Options are:

Street - $1980.00 RRP / $1665.00 GB PRICE
Sport - $2496.00 RRP / $2050.00 GB PRICE

Difference being that sport has external resivours.

These do not include adjustable strut tops, they are extra (POA if available)
They do not include helper springs (available, POA)
Spring rates are a case of "You tell me what you want".

Post up.

Prices are NOT SET IN STONE. This is what we expect the price will be. Still in final negotiations with hotbits.

Hotbits service centre is in MELBOURNE. Cheap shipping/fixes for most of us. They replace internals and upgrade parts for 80 dollars a corner.

Please post up below if you are definately in or definately out. If you call in, i'm going to be PMing you about deposits.

just ask them again if they are bump and rebound adjustable, when i asked last year, and people here gave me shit for finding out for them, they will make height adjustable but not damper adjustment for the starion ones, unless they have changed between then and now you would be best advised to make sure.

Why all the interest now, all these options are always available. speak to noltec about some threaded sleeves and make your own custom set.

All hotbits coilovers are damp and rebound adjustable along with height adjustment. This came in with the new design alterations as of April.
