EOI Custom intake manifold

Ive got a CAD paper this semester at uni so I thought what beeter excuse to design a custom intake manifold for a RWD vr4 head conversion. Now this has probably been done before but im hopefully gunna get round to making them at some stage.
The final volume of the plenum is still being researched for best RPM and the throttle body will most likely be a standard vr4 one.
Come to think of it, I could probably put any size adapter flange on the end of the plenum for throttle bodies if that makes it any easier.
The trumpets have the same cross-sectional area as the standard ports on the vr4 for best airflow into the odd shape.
At this stage the entire thing will be made from thin walled stainless steel with a bead blasted finish and possibly some sort of polished Starion logo on it. Maybe even throw in a couple of coats of clear coat so it doesnt get shitty
Heres a solid works image for help.
Let me know if anybody is interested in this. I will definately be making one for my car in the not too distant future so it doesnt really bother me either way. The price will only be the cost of making it. (Im a non profit organisation :D )
Cheers

What about the same thing for the SOHC? ;)

Could easily be done but at the moment im just looking at the DOHC. Im sure the SOHC wouldnt be that much different :)
Oh, and the ports on the SOHC head are so much smaller so a different trumpet would have to be used

PUT ME DOWN FOR 2!!!! but i need extra fuel bosses for injecters for the methanol at the end of the trumpet.
Money in advance :beer

2? Ok wow. For the methanol injection, do you mean like a fuel rail inside the plenum and the a method of mounting the methanol injector. Maybe like a tripod over the centre of the trumpet? easy. kind of like the water injection system of the F1 cars?

Yes 2, need 1 for my engine & 1 for my sons engine, as for fuel, no just need the bosses for the injector, will be using the STD VR4 fuel rail on top, or if U can come up with something better, will be using 550CC mazda injecters fort he methanol, but am currently using 780cc units in the original mount on the head. :beer

im not sure if you mean something like this

no, but the idea is there, was thinking about half way up the trumpet, these only work at high speed EG 15PSI+ boost 4000RPM. anyway when i get home i will mod yr CAD Drawing & show U. :beer

sounds good. im sure once the basic funnel design has been finalised and manufactured, then adding an injector port in it shouldnt be too hard.
Sorry bout the confusion.Ii didnt know if you were using the standard injector ports on the vr4 head and where you would put the meth injecs.
For injecs also i would need to know the measurements of them for a mounting method

Am using STD Mitz style injecters, if U have a head the setup the same as the std units, but will have to angle them more for flow towards the valve, I know the spray will not be as good as original, but it is only for top-end so there will be heaps of air flow..... hopefully

ok. this has the injector aiming right at the centre of the funnel. and from rough measurements is the same size as the normal vr4 injector hole

Put me down for one. Keep me updated via PM.
Please make these take the standard VR4 throttlebodies.

will keep you all up to date.
So at the moment after roughly one day im up to 3extras. once thhe design is done i might be able to do them in batches.
The design will be for the vr4 throttle body but it would be piss easy to change the mounting plate.
only one problem, my dog ran off with my throttle body last week i presume and have been unable to find it! *beat*

PM me your details and i'll send you one. Do you need the FIAV valve attached?
I've got like 6 vr4 tb's in the shed.
