As the title suggests, I'm chasing a cheap laptop...(or giveaway)...

My cpu is old and prehistoric (still uses serial mouse and keyboard), and takes forever to do anything...

I'd prefer a laptop due to other reasons (ie. tuning car and stuff).

Anyone help??

I have 2, but they aint cheap baby...... I have the latest acer and a T-20 thats maxed out in gig and ram. Both lightning quick, both will burn dvd also. Can load any software you want. Both on XP Pro with Norton atm.

Office works have Compaq Presario V2417au for $800-1000 new, depends on when the specials on, good unit, using it 4 tuning of ECU's etc. :beer

i got them at work for like $799 i think.

I went to clive peters today, im not sure if u have a store up there but they have a clearance on now and there is some kick ass prices.

they are that cheap for a reason

as soon as big w started selling acer's for under $800, we (alphawest) pulled out of our warranty arrangement for laptop repairs.

and yes they do break.

you should be able to pick up a cheapy off ebay that is good.
