Yes any info please? I ordered the BEK122 kit from Repco but it's for an 2.6 Astron engine.

Curious as to what a kit would include for a G63?
Drivers side - remove shaft & rotate bearing to block oil gallery hole

Passengers - Machine the eccentric weight out of the shaft. This provides support needed for oil pump.

I've only had a quick look at the engine in bits & reckon this is all thats required. Am I missing something?

Yes that's right but not everybody has easy access to a lathe. Kits are available with a custom built short shaft and the bits to block up the upper shafts oil holes. These are just bearings you press in so the oil holes don't line up to block them off. The welsh plug thing blocks the upper pulley hole in the front cover.

See this 4G63 kit(for VR4).

i believe it would be the same as the 4g63 2.0L DOHC..

if so.. here are the part numbers that you requires straight from MITSUBISHI

MD103722
Balance shaft
bearing, rear

MD040597
Balance shaft
bearing, front

MD092785
Balance shaft
cap (plug)

MD098626
Balance shaft
stub shaft

they are the 4 items..
u may not beable to get the cap, (out of production) same goes for stub..
but there are a few ways to get around this problem..

give it a shot. let me know how you go.

i've done this to my engine..

bazeng be correct he be.
With the parts however when i did this to mine there was no front bearing (not that it's the front on our engines anyway ;) ) that needed to be reffited and turned around as there was no oil gallery hole on the side to block off or bearing to replace for that matter.

BAlance shaft

Bazeng......

It's Geoff [machvr4] from the galantvr4.org site !!!

Dude PM me, I'm looking for a Magna intake and I dont want to take up any more space on this thread in regards to that.

Also: Fellas, I live 2mins from a local Mitsu dealership, and the US Balance Shaft Eliminator kits are cheap as hell. I can get them
Soooo If you guys really want them, I can have them next day.

Also: here's a good thing to know. If you are going to delete the shafts. You DONT HAVE to take out the left side shaft. Remember if you take it out, you have to turn the bearing around to block the oiling hole. Well,
that shaft already blocks it somewhat, so just leave it in :)
Take out the right side one and use the stub shaft.

If you are in the midst of rebuilding a motor and it's already out of the car, then yeah, you might just want to take out the left sife unit, and use the new bearings to block the oiling holes

Aslo: The 4G63 2.0 balance shaft eliminator kit is nothing more than the 1.6 liter
Mitsubishi Mirage Kit. :)

The cap that blocks your left sife shaft hole is out of production, but Mitsu has replaced that part with a freeze plug:)
But keep in mind.... that again, you dont have to remove the left side shaft after you have disconnect the bal shaft belt :)
