nnnnnnup...
It's totaly true what is said about setting prices for your car. It is in fact that the owner sets a price and the public will pay it (eventually). You car is worth what someone will pay for it. If you want to pay $3000 for a starion you may get a fairly good one.. but it may also be a dog with lots of expensive little problems.... I have seen a JA go for $15,000 just a few years ago and i thought best i have a look at it and it was a nice car but i wasn't going to pay that for it...but someone did! (not someone here i hope).
I have just built a ja/jb from a bodyshell and sold it for $9000...unreg! but this was a near perfect car. If you live in Melbourne you should come over, have a look and make an offer if you like. I do have some cheepies as well which are in good cond! I have no room in my garage!

Cheapest one i have is $3000...but its a good car and i dont think it would be a good move to buy just to yank the engine out. However if you want it im in doncaster. I have 2 more arriving this week that may just be up your alley though... i will let you know when i see them... do you just want engine/box and loom?

We are a small workshop of qualified staff of 2 that ressurects starions. The ones that are f***kt are stripped for parts. We also do other stuff like servicing and rebuilds of bikes, cars, powered scooters and jobs that are a little obscure for most workshops. There is always 2 or 3 starions here being put together or for sale.

It drives like a stock unit so i could say its boost levels are untouched. Im having a little look at the turbo at the moment, it looks brand new but i think someone stuffed up in putting the seal in. But i will sell it with the turbo (hi-flowed water cooled unit) in perfect cond.
Has a nice saas wheel on it but I think it would be better off removed so you can see all the guages on the dash properly...and someone has done a shiiiiiit job putting a cd player in. everything else looks pretty good, it even has a set of genuine sheepskin covers that were on the front seats.
If your interested come have a look and make an offer if you like. Oh yeah, it has a genuine steel spoiler on it too!..but its painted a crappy black colour. I will post a pic as soon as i can find my camera again!
$3500 is a cheap price for this rare beauty. Paint is not perfect but not too bad either.

Flav... Or anyone with the answer
What is the diff between a Starion DASH engine and a normal Starion Engine ?
Just curious as I know they are rare but dont know WHY they are rare.
Thanks

Oscar,
the VR4 4G63 DOHC 4 valve engine was developed from the 4G63 SOHC 8 valve. The DASH 4G63 SOHC 12 valve engine is the "in between". This engine has two inlet valves and one exhaust. The second inlet valve is controlled so it is deactivated at low speed. Anyhow it would be good if someone could post pictures of the cylinder head so our US friends can check it out.
By the way this head bolts straight on a 4G63 SOHC 8 valve. This engine was not sold in Australian Starions (that is why it is rare!) however is/was available from the secondhand (used) Japanese engine importers (which is a big business in Australia). The engine still has TBI style injection however does make more power than the 4G63 8 valve because of the better cylinder head flow.
An actual Starion DASH motor is still rare most are from a FWD that is why the top radiator hose often has to go to the back of the head.

Allrighty then....
mrb1... Thanks for the explanation WELL put. So is the DASH still an OHC or does it use a secondary cam for the additional set in intake valves ? But NICE addition to the allready RARE Starion breed.
Flav...
You mean swap my white headache for your DASH engine equiped Starion ? Man dont tempt me that way.... Besides the shipping will KILL both of us not to mention import fees. Last time I checked on shipping a complete running widebody to Australia was abouts US$2300.00 PLUS any import fees and duties so I figure shipping from Australia to the US will be abouts the same.
But seriously if it was the original Starion DASH engine in it I will give it a bit more thought but still will be a bit far fetched as I have yet to investigate all the fees involved in importing a complete car into the US. BUT the though DID cross my mind.
And the fact that the 4G63 is more a reliable powerplant than the 4G64 that we use here but I still like the power possibilities of the 2.6l motor. But the rarerity of the DASH will be a worthwhile investment I THINK ?
But thanks for the lesson guys.
Oscar
OK I just saw what I think it was a ( 3.0 ) on top of the throttle body. Is that true that its a 3 little engine or are my eyes playing tricks on me ?
