Wow, good luck with the sale.

This, total value for money, compared to our old mate with the red unit.

I thought he must have told his old lady that he was trying to sell it - and really wanted to keep it!

Most of us know your car when it was for sale in Brisbane... The previous seller tried selling it here, the Trading Post and Carsales.
I remember Daryl (around the corner from you) had a interest in it but was not impressed with the colour.

I think with Daryl selling his '84 white JA this year and buying it back for the same price is a comparable sale as they are the same models with pluses and minuses in each!

I personally think the fool on Carsales has marred your judgement on what the car is worth. However, that is my opinion based on my knowledge and selling facts.
And I hope down the track you prove me wrong...

This is one of the reasons the guy on Carsales with the red JA gets under my skin with his ridiculous asking price :?

Fred Sharpe's old car from nambour. Worth more than Darryl's i'd say as this hasn't been restored & the interior is original etc. Might have trouble selling it for $15K though!

Should have seen it when it had 68000km.. I have film pics somewhere of it..

As an enthusiast, yes, you would rather have an untouched, unmolested Starion and pay the extra premium. But how much more?
Then you need to weigh up the fact that this car does NOT come with improvements such as LSD, Intercooling and other factory options found in later model Starions.

I personally would have the gold one over Daryl's white JA, but there wouldn't be much difference in $ value when you compare the options in the white car!

Correct - the same car.

Asking price is about what it owes me.

Yes I've seen Darryl's white car. Very nice.

Thought I'd put the car on the forum for a couple of days before putting it on Carsales.

Not really interested in a lower price. The car can go on club plates next year which means the running costs are pretty much zero. I just need to find somewhere to park it when we move. Maybe Shannon's with a $14k reserve.

Looks fantastic - a credit to you for looking after it.

My wifes JB owes her over $30k....... (what was paid for it new) but unless someone is keen I doubt she will get back what it owes her!!!!

On saying this sometimes it is the right person getting the vehicle that is more important than getting full perceived price.

I wish you the very best forthe sale, but more importantly for your health.

thats a pretty nice original starion when i paid $3500 for mine and spent well lost count at 10k to get it on the road still more work to be done no air con valve stem seals need doing etc so its not to far off the mark i dont think. for an original with those low kms good luck with the sale :beer :)

Thats a nice car but $15,000 is quite steep. I have been around these forever and you might be holding that for quite some time! I had a mint one exactly like that that i bought with a stuffed map sensor with 98,000 kms for $1100

....however these are going up in value so holding it could be a good thing.
