how blown is blown? Guessing it's a 4G92 or 4G93? if so is it the common leaking oil out the side of the block above the bellhousing? Or more serious blow?

Ok so this used to be my car once apon a time, so i thought it might help to add some history to the vehicle.
1. It's a 4g93 sohc 16v. This was the larger engine option for this car, and being a manual it actually goes pretty good.
2. I put a excedy sports tuff clutch kit in this car out of a lancer gsr. I also replaced the clutch fork and slave cylinder.
3. It has a Golpher alloy radiator again for a Lancer GSR 1.8t
4. The a/c works, however it had a slow leak and lost gas over about a 3 month period.
5. I always serviced this car around every 7,500 kms.
It really is a very practical and very reliable little car. It actually handled quite well with the satria rims too.
If i had more room, more time, and more money i'd buy it back and put a 4g93t in it LOL

Can happen both sides but it's mostly common on the gearbox end due to the placement of the oil gallery. I suspect it's the 'second gen' 4G92/4G93 which swapped sides in the engine bay which has it happen on the belt side mostly.fugazi wrote:Isn't it more common to leak on the "belt"-side?iXNAY wrote:its a 4G92, and your spot on its leaking oil out the site above the bell housing!
Mine is....
The last 4G92 SOHC I did it on I just pulled the head off with manifolds still attached and cleaned up both surfaces with a block and sandpaper and assembled back together with a new gasket, timing belt and water pump and has been fine ever since. Was a sub $200 fix and took about 4 hours to do. If this wagon was in QLD I would snap it up for sure!
