FS: Yellow JA, lady owner (photos)

Post by enthuzed »

A mate of mine contacted me yesterday about a Yellow JA that was advertised in Albury/Wodonga (3.5 hours from Melbourne, on the Murray).

Then an ex-GM skunkworks mechanic at the Hanging Rock Classic Car Show (where were the rest of you slackers??) asked me if he knew where to buy a yellow Starion....of course I told him that as a matter of fact I knew of one...
However, the guy has to convince his wife to have another car, given his current project isn't finished.

But I made some enquires anyway... and now passing on what I've heard about it...

Been told that this car has done a lot of kilometres, it's spent many years in Canberra and country Victoria. At the same time it is supposed to be in fabulous condition.

It has about 38,000kms on a new engine and there's a rebuilt spare turbo for it. I get the impression that it's a genuine and well-maintained vehicle.
The lady who's selling it still considers it her pride and joy even 5 years after replacing it, she has owned the Starion for 17 years.

It is unregistered at present but gets started regularly.
Asking price is $3500.

When I get some photos, I'll post them here...
Meanwhile, if you're interested, call Angela on 0407 480 150.

More info and photos from the owner:

It's done 583000km. 38000km with the rebuilt motor. I have always had it serviced regularly and have looked after it meticulously. Eg checking water/oil.
The body is near perfect. There are no cracks in the dash. The passenger side visor fell off the other day :( The front seats are a little worn/dry but the back are in great nic. Someone tried to break into it when I lived in Canberra and so the drivers side lock has been pushed inside the door panel too. As far as the turbo goes or anything mechanically related, I lack experience in this area. I have had nothing modified/changed since I have had it (apart from the motor rebuild).

I love this little car and it's been so good to me.....it makes me feel sick in the stomach sometimes when I think of it leaving me!!! Am I doing the right thing??? :)

I'd rather have that with 583000km than most of the starion's I've seen with 200000km!

Agree, a high mileage well maintained car is always better. Anyone got higher?

Ok, here's the latest.

I made some suggestions to her about joining a club and putting the car on club plates.
And that's the chosen path at this stage.

Sorry to waste anybody's time.
