WTB LSD (or even an open diff)

Unfortunately the LSD in my JD is stuffed, so I'm after an LSD.

Edit: I'm even considering an open diff just to get me back on the road while I find an LSD.

How did you manage that? What is wrong with it?
I've got a good diff guy that can fix/ rebuild almost anything if that helps

The seal went, all the oil fell out, and apparently it's not repairable.

Looks like the car has a small 3.5 in it as well.

So it's a small diff....
If you bought a small open diff which are cheap as chips, can it then be fixed? Check it out!

Yes at some point over the past 26 years the big 3.9 has been swapped out.

I'll have to get more info from the diff guy whether the open diff parts will solve my problem.

Open diff bits will fit the small diff, from memory crownwheel & spider gears are the same. It must be shimmed up properly, job for a diff specialist. Do a search for more info, I've covered this in more detail here before...

Yes and I know when and where :roll: But it was an open diff that come out and a LSD that went in!!!! Daz wanted LSD more then acceleration :)

So Jason, do you know the whereabouts of the open 3.9 diff? It has the large housing that can have the LSD centre from Silo slotted in!!

I do, however the owner had it converted to LSD the day after he got it from memory?

Hoongirl Bring me the wheels you dont need and I'll replace them with a good open diff ready to bolt in and go! (must put oil in it before driving!!)
Or if you cant do the transport side of it let me know and we can work out me driving over to you.............. Must get the JD on the road again :D

Hopefully the open diff I've gotten will liberate enough parts to repair my lsd.
