What block have you used to build it, and what sort of price?

4G64 express van wideblock, crank gound, acl race bearings, block modified for oil squirters, VR4 timing gear/oil pump. VR$ rods with arp bolts, SPS custom pistons(I think they are cosworth blanks)8.8:1 comp. Also have a reco VR4 head. Was a complete assembled motor, but i pulled the head and one piston to check that the gapless rings were fitted to the second ring.
Dont really know what it is worth, depends if the head is included i guess.

The 64 was available in 1989 onwards Express & L300 vans as a 7 bolt crank with girdle 2.4 EFI motor. Or am I incorrect?

I think the early 2.4 vans were 6 bolt but I'm sure there is someone here that will know for sure

yes very incorrect, they were 6 bolt til sometime in 92 when they changed to the 7 bolt across all 4G63/4G64 types. I have a 6 bolt 64 here from an efi 92 van..

I'll check the year of the 2.4 van I had, I thought it was an 89, definitely was before 1992.
But I do recall it was a 7 bolt with girdle (look up enthuzed on p'bucket for pics even) & I decided not to use it & build up a Starion block instead...
