i dont like bum draggers but you have to admit, with the cordia engine etc, it's a pretty interesting conversion.

Were 2 door Colts (of that vintage) sold new in Aus? I think I've only ever seen 4-door hatch and sedans driving around.
I've often thought about cutting the floor pan out of one and grafting in evo/vr4 drivetrain for a real sleeper. Then I wake up.

LOL

The 3 door ones were badged Mirages I think, but I don't think they were sold new here.
I could be wrong though. It's happened once before. :)

I have this weird buzzing noise in my head that says a Starion with the roof chopped may not look bad either. Leave the rear seats, fabricate a boot lid to fit and it might be quite a smick lil open top cruiser if the sheetmetal part was done well. The front windscreen has a nice rake to it, straightish waistline and a nice angular look to it all.

Hey about you photochop boys and girls hop onto it :D

I think they were called Mirages in NZ too.

I have to say i think i could be happy driving that, fun lines and a turbo

Nah I disagree Greg, it's the top of the doors, the B pillar and the hatch that give the starion it's unique look. Personally I dont like any convertible, they all look the same. The only exception I feel is the S2000.
