Turbo merge collectors, 40mm black steel 3mm wall thickness approx 10cm in length, best designed merge collectors on the market, chamber designed for equal flow from each cylinder for maximum control over boost for external wastegate setup.

$80.00 excluding p/h will post australia wide

pipes

Post by 4gpwr »

I made them as a backyarder , I wanted to make the best i can for my twin cam motor , after the first one which I almost cut my hand off I made a jig , so now I can make 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , and 6 cylinder merge collectors , but only out of 40mm pipe , I thought about making flanges ect for them but I'll see what the demand is like . But I will offer help to any one who want to make there own manifolds.

NICE NEAT WORK :beer . I became aware of them a few years ago when I met KYLE 6BOOST( no not the Kyle from south park ) when he was working in the corner of a shed at Oxyley in Brisbane
He uses merge collectors in all of his manifolds and the workmanship is 1st class and you will pay app $900.00 for one  but they do have a lifetime guarantee :D
Can you advise the internal diameter at the top ?? 40 mm ??
I've had mine since 03 07 92

3 mm wall thickness , 40mm pipe = 34 mm internal diameter , 40 mm pipe seems to be the most common size for turbo manifolds .

6-boost manifold are good ( the best ) but in the last year , the few that i bought and fitted to skylines , the quality varied , on the same spec eng combos the manifolds behaved different , all external gates ,

I came to the concusion that the chamber part of the collector was too small , and wasnt feedig the external gates with all cylinders , the last eng made 15 pound with no gate at all , a big flame throwing hole ! the only way to overcome that was with a real big gate , :x which i still dint get good control over boost , or weld a gate on the turbine housing ( vl style ) which seemes to be the best way .

So after having a chat with 6-boost , and not being to keen on loosing money and time again , I made my own

OLd fart you meationed the cost of 6-boost manifolds , $900 is a good price the amont of work and investment in those manifolds , and there in no comparsion to the cheap stainless manifolds around .

The stainless manifolds on the market are shit , to make them last longer , they need brackets to support the weight of the turbo ect , they need alot of support brackets to stop them cracking .

The only good stailness manifolds i personaly seen was Nispros and that was $2000 for a 4 cyl

But each stailness butweld like his are $80 each compaired to steel pipe butwelds they retail for about $8 each,

The common stailness manifold pipes which are exh pipes for that small diameter are between $10-$20 each
