Kiwistar

The hubs are available but NOT at the moment as I allready have another member in line for a complete set. They are getting harder to locate in good shape.

But in any case.

Front 5 sud hubs are USD$100.00 a set.
Rear 5 stud, 4 bolt hubs are USD$110.00

And if I am not mistaken the TWO sets you are inquiring about should be within the 44 pound weight limit for surface shipping, and that will put it at or bellow USD$75.00 for shipping. If you want it faster let me know and I will get a quote.

E-mail me directly (Its faster than PM's) if this is somnething you guys will like to persue and I will add you to the waiting list.

Thanks
Oscar

40kw! :o is that at the wheels?

Would you loose any torque by doing this mod?

isnt the idea to gain torque at wheels and by doing that you lose top end?

Yes true, I just ran my tounge there , what I meant was things like turbo spool since your racing through the gears at a faster rate?

Plus how would you go about changing the gear speedo to match?

what my calcs were based on was that going from a 3.5 to 3.9 will increase the torque output at the wheels (tractive effort) by approx 11% so from a 3.5 to 4.6 your looking at a shiiit, i miscalced, its actually 30%

so if you have say 400nm, in 4th it would be putting 1400N down on a 3.5 and 1840N with a 4.6.
So if you wanna bring it back the other way 1840/3.5 = 525nm equivilent!

so its a little closer to 63rwkw gain (as a 30% of his rwkw)

So for a 3.9 - 4.6 conversion it would give an estimate of 25.6% increase?

How many times do you need to get to over 200 km/h on the street?

18%

and its not so much the top speed, its just on a 4.6 your looking at a cruising RPM @ 120km/h of close to 4000

starions 5th gear sux, its way to high i would love for it to be around the 0.7 or 0.6 mark instead of 0.86.

As a side note, things like corvettes (and i think aussie LS1's) run a 0.5 6th gear, cruising @ 120 at a lazy 1700rpm or so..... love it.

Yeah I reacon Starion's fifth gear could have dropped a few hundred more revs for economy reasons 3000 rpm in 5'th gear at 120km's just a little too high.

Mine runs ~3000rpm at 100KPH. Its kind of handy in a way, its not too annoying (gf's MX5 does 4000rpm at 100KPH, which gets annoying), and I can overtake cars with boost without changing down a gear :)

This has turned into quite an interesting topic hasnt it..

Basically it will still remain a road legal car but i dont drive it on the road that much. I will just work out what the speedo is reading at certain speed limits.
Im more looking at the increased acceleration useing the 4.6 on the drag strip and help spool the turbo and keep it on boost. i will keep you guys posted when i get the diff in and try it out to see what gains i get.
Im gonna try and race it with the diff but before i turn the boost up to see the difference.
Im thining it could gain me up to .5 second or more which would be good.
If it gives me another 63rwkw that would be nice too hehe.

Got the 4.6 gears now.
Found oscar to be real easy to deal with, very good service.
Now to put them in and see what the car goes like.
