EOI Group Purchase of 4340 steel flywheels.
I have finally talked my brother to look seriously at making some light flywheels made from billet 4340 steel.
They will be of comparable weight and price to an aluminium flywheel.
They will be drilled for the 225mm clutch but will also see if they can also be done for the 240mm as well.
They will be sold through NPC Performance Clutches, who are based in Archerfield, Brisbane.
Their front page has one of the clutches my brother designed and built.
If you are GENUINELY interested in purchasing one, please post here.

Had a chat with Doug (NPC) and my brother today and the result is a flywheel drilled for both the 225mm and 240mm clutch setups, with the possibility of a 250mm friction plate version for those wanting to go wild.
The flywheel should weigh in a little heavier than 5.5kgs due to the larger reinforced area required for the extra holes and the friction area of the flywheel being around 10mm thick, to allow for several resurfacings.
BTW: these are 1 piece, ie: the ring gear is cut into the flywheel then induction hardened.
It's now all down to the number of people who need them.

Can I assume the flywheel is the same if:
- I'm using a W58 box?
I'm using an RX7 box?
I'm using a narroblock instead of a wideblock?

Doesn't seem to be much interest.. :(
Would only need 5-10 people (I'll be getting 4 for myself) to get this off the ground. Once the flywheel is made, it's on file and can be made on demand (the benefits of CNC machining).
Doug also does standard and performance clutches (funnily enough) to suit most applications.

also, what price are we looking at? I think people tend to assume that if price is not mentioned, it's already going to be too expensive..

I want one, I know steve with the black widebody would want one, but neither of us have the money at the moment! Maybe when tax returns come back LOL
