Finally have MPI (thanks Hugh) so I'm getting ready to take the starion back out to the drift track, but both of my cars have seized handbrakes.
I have tried to free them up and spray inox and wd40 down the lines, even tried an air compressor to force the lubricant through the cables and had no luck.
Does anyone out there have any free handbrake cables they're willing to sell?If not I'll either get some made or just put in a hydraulic handbrake.
Thanks Max

go to the wreckers and see if you can get scorpion ones. I used them on mine and I can't remember if it was a straight swap or a slight mod but they worked brilliantly. Sigma ones might work too although I can't be 100% on that. Don't bother wasting your time on the starion ones you will never free them.

my best advice if you are drifting is to either get new ones made, or use a hydro handbrake, tbh the starion handbrake is USELESS for drifting!!
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

No prob Ben!
Yeh I found the Starion handbrake pretty average, EXCEPT for my black Widey! It's handbrake is freakin awesome!! Best handbrake I've had in any car. Just a flick of it gets perfect two wheel lock. Can do a handbrake turn in a one lane one way road with that car cos it does EXACTLY what you want it to.
Pity none of my other car's handbrakes are that good. I reckon it's probly cos the widey only had 89,000kms on it, so everything is still working well.
Which would suggest to me that if you got some new handbrake cables made, and then also welded an extender bar to your handbrake lever, you could get some pretty good results with a non-hydro handbrake. But then there's always the option of hydro, which works well, and then you can position it wherever you want / like
I just welded up a handbrake extension for a mate's R33 cos the R33 stock handbrakes are great, and it works really well. I'll post some photos of it, and I probly should try the same thing on my Starion!

Yeah the handbrake does work well in that car...it's a freak!
Most of them are crappy at best.
Is the car still road registered and full trim?
If so, I have made up a hydraulic one that uses the factory lever which is in the perfect position. And it still has the original cables too.
Does beautiful 100km/hr lockups in the dry now.
Let me know and I'll send some pics...of the assembly not the 100km/h results. :D

Yes at the moment the car is registered and I do drive it, but I'm not sure for how long with the coil overs, side skirts and the wheels. Cops don't like anything thats old or looks at all modified. :x
I was thinking of somehow using the std lever and connecting a hydro to the link under the centre console
