WTB: Winged sump

Post by Lummy »

I'm after a decent sump to suit my VR4 4G63. Winged and baffled would be great.

Lummy,

Your best bet would be to contact Chris Collier at "Beyond the Limit Motorsport" in Melbourne (Google it, he has a website with contact details). He makes some really nice performance gear and has extended/winged sumps available on an exchange basis. Adding some baffles isnt a big step for him to add as well I would think.

Chris is one clever cookie and has all the fabrication skills and technical knowledge on 4G63's to make them work.

Last time I checked it out, he was competively priced to boot.

Cheers
Greg

Beyond the limits winged sumps are $335AUD, and that is with standard baffling.

Yep, thanks, I think I'll go with that.

I haven't had any surging issues with a standard sump, so the lack of baffling in their sump shouldn't be a problem.

Do they make them to order or do they have them in stock?

Thanks guys, it's nice to hear a first-hand endorsement of this product.

JD, since you have one of these, could you do me a favour and measure the vertical length from the flange to the base of the sump (at the front) - I just need to ensure this will sit above my cross member (it's for a Scorpion, not a Starion!).

Cheers.

Spoke with Chris today.

He doesn't have any in stock and usually only makes them in batches of 5.

If there's enough interest and we can get a group order of 5, he'll happily make them for us.

Anyone interested?

JD - any luck on that measurement? :)

I could be talked into buying one if it doesn't require a core exchange.

I don't have all the details yet (ie, exact pricing, capacity), but here's a photo of what they look like...

http://beyondthelimit.com.au/parts%20sumps.html

If there's enough interest (5), I'll get a final price and all the details.

From what he said, I would think the price would be around the $300 mark.

Please post here or PM me if you're interested.

This wont be an exchange-type of deal, it's just a straight buy.

They're a good quality item.

Please let me know if you're interested. We only need 5 to make this happen.
