wtb 1990ish l300/starwagon 2wd 5 speed

Post by airbats801 »

Who knows, maybe someone on here will have one. I'm looking for a 5 speed swap for my mitsu van here in the states. I need tranny and linkage/shifter

Let me know if you have one and are willing to ship to the states. I'm willing to pay the cash for shipping it.

Thanks,
Shaun

probably best to find a complete van with a busted motor and then rip out all the conversion parts like pedals, column shifter, clutch master, linkages, gearbox, flywheel etc etc. If you get all that stuff individually from a wrecker or junk yard it will all start to add up. I'll keep my eyes peeled over here.

I cant exactly part a van out in australia from the states. I basically just need the transmission and shift linkage. The rest I can make myself.

My other options is I think a 80s 2wd toyota van shares the same bell housing pattern as a w58 in which case I may be able to use a custom bell housing.

What a spit, I got rid of one off the 2.4 wideblock! Went to the scrap metal yard in the sky!

Adriane, that would work I think, do you have the gear shifter and linkage? Thikn the transmission will hold pu to a stock 4g63 twin cam turbo? :) I'm very interested

I have one behind a 4g64 turbo, they really dont have to handle too much tiorque as they just wheelspin. I dont have the shifter or linkages, but i may be able to organise some.

I'm very interested adriano. If you can get me one with linkage I'd definately take it off your hands.

64 thats all we got are 64 blocks. I probably wont even turbo it. I just want a 5 speed.

Although if you have a narrowblock one.I do have a 63 twin cam turbo sitting in my garage with a modded manifold...

i would assume that the boxes are just the same as the l200 (d50 for you yanks) and sigma narrow block gearboxes, which are both identical, appart from there shifter setup

so to save on shipping mate maybe even just find the linkage setup?

^^^ the van casings are different, the shifter linkages come out the side halfway down the box..
