WTB: DASH injectors anyone? I need some!

Post by MitsuMadness »

I'm looking for some DASH injectors...

Here's the issue...
My ECU died, so I'm replacing with a Microtech. This is underway and looks like it will go ok, BUT:

- DASH engine uses STAGED mode injection (with a small and large injector). Small injector comes in first, then large injector.

- The Microtech I have (Series 2, MT-8) doesn't have the ability to run STAGED mode, can run BATCH or SEQUENTIAL.

SOLUTION:
- I plan to replace the small injector with a large injector the same as the other one, so I have two large injectors, and can simply run those in BATCH mode with a lower duty cycle (due to large injector flow).

If anyone has any, even old ones, please let me know! Even if they need re-conditioning, no problem. They're special weird ones that go INSIDE the throttle body housing that is only on the DASH engines, so unfortunately the JB etc ones won't do.
I considered changing to a JB throttle body, but don't really want to do that.

So any injectors, or better ideas (that aren't too expensive, and don't involve modifying my DASH too much) would be greatly appreciated!

:D

Mr ebay addict has bought a set last year while I had my black GSR-V. It came with the throttle body. $150 posted!!

I have been told these injectors cannot be put on an apparatus and cleaned properly. I don't know how your ones were cleaned???

Are you sure your Dash ECU is kaput???? Anyway, here is one for sale in Japan. About $700 bucks under Used Parts.

I know you want to keep it original, but maybe it is just not worth the effort if your putting a aftermarket ecu on anyway. Wantsom uses a modded Sonata manifold for his MPI Dash car. So it would make sence to me too go the extra mile, and be able to buy normal injectors in the future.

Think about it, your 90% of the way there really. The ecu and tuning is the most expensive part.

Could you use ja injectors in the dash tb as they look like they are similar setups.

Thanks for the replies guys!
Amazing that there's actually a DASH ECU for sale in Japan!
Yeh Microtech is almost set up now, and I have a few new progressions on this...
Found that it DOES have a STAGED mode, but I still want to set up BATCH with the two larger injectors.
So yep, I will still be wanting to go for the two larger injectors. Looks like I have some options there, thanks!

PM's sent too.

Oh and JDSTAZ45, yeh I found a local place in Melbourne that rigged something up for me to clean my injectors, did a nice job. They did complain a bit at first, but then were happy once they got it to work :)

www.18u, yeh I may go down that road for MPI eventually especially if it doesn't work as well as I had planned. Got some bits and pieces sitting here. Although i'm thinking of going twin cam if i'm going to do mpi, haha it's always how far do you go though!
But for now if I can get this setup working that will keep me happy :)

So between JDSTAZ45's offer and another injector I have been offered, I think things are looking good!
