WTB 2.6 efi and turbo gear (EOI)

Post by TomVR4 »

I have recently bought an 89 pajero with the 2.6 motor in it. I have noticed the amount of wideys around now. So I was wondering how much someone would sell me all the turbo and efi gear or maybe a whole motor? any info/ prices or advice is greatly appreciated

there is a widey front cut for sale in brisbane for about 2K, i'd be keen to get the parts you wont use if you wanted to split the cost.... that way we can both get what we need.
Fibreglass airdams $370, fibreglass front bumpers $260, reco drag links $165, alloy radiators $925 (unpolished), h/l switch rebuilds $125, all plus freight.

So if I were to get the turbo, manifolds, dump pipe, fuel stuff and the computer and what ever else i forgot, what sort of a split would you want?

How much we talking here? shipping wouldn't be that bad, would it.

If the black(?) dash is good then I'm happy to chip in some $$. Mine is a bit scuffed.

Tom - keep your eyes peeled on ebay for a sigma or magna turbo. I'm not talking about the carby shit, but occasionally an EFI turbo setup comes up which will have aftermarket comp, MPI, bigger turbo and more potential for powers than starion stuff.

you'd be best to grab the engine and wiring loom aswell and shoot the whole thing in wholus bolus, i'll basically take the whole rest of it, and we could split it, if you want to go further with this idea then pm me..

yeah I don't really want to go crazy with power, I wouldn't mind chucking on a carby turbo set up if it was cheap. I just want something that will be able to pull up steep hills and have good torque (in the range of 1800 to 3500 rpm) for some good off roading.

What sort of rpm do the stock wideys get full boost?

I'm interested in this concept too, I've got a 91 L200 Double Cab (which I think is awesome) with the 2.6 and am interested in the turbo concept but for low down torque not top end power, something that would spool up really quickly and "pull tree stumps out of the ground" (or tow big trailer boats).

Crazy thing is that it is reasonable for you to ship to me, but the good ol US Postal Service charges a premium for overseas shipping now and will only send it on the slowboat.

The half cut would work well for you. In about 1-2 months my engine and custom exhaust mani will be up for sale from my widebody too.

the wideys come on boost just off idle at high load, and power shoots up from 2500 rpm.
