shipping container from States

Post by groupAralliart »

As a few have picked up on, I have a mate (Dave) who flies over to the States every 4 or so months and is willing to bring parts/cars back for a minimal fee - before you ask how much, it depends on a number of factors such as size and how much space he has left. To give you a bit of an idea he has told me that to bring a car back it would be about $4000 landed with all duties paid but not certified. He has a good friend who also ships containers back however he does it every 6 weeks and they come direct to Brisbane. We are going to build a 1m3 container to come back with smaller parts on his shipment. The containers that (Dave) ships depart from Los Angeles with his next trip being in about 5 weeks. If you did want something to go into the container it would need to be delivered to the dock and then Dave would pack it. He mentioned to me that he has a wrecker who sources cars and parts for him and if I wanted any thing a picture would be a good start of the car required etc (the wrecker has no computer - old school). By the way Dave has started towing part time so if you are in Brissy let me know if you need a flat bed. Cheers Steve

$4000? That open air shipping or container shipping? They dont let you load cars with parts anymore so if you want parts u need a container.

Haha... Only got the 3.54.

However, I am going to the junkyards in search of an LSD out of 4wd mitsu truck, they usually came with a 3.9 that bolts on... or even a 4.3!!

Mr. Shipping containter guy, can I ship parts to you in California... and then you take em home with your shipping container?? Is that how this works??
