Hi there, new starion owner from poland

Post by TommiCrazy »

Hi everyone,my name is Tommi, iam 26.
Iam owner of starion wide body, that car was oryginaly with 2,6 engine but prewious owner he had swapped the engine , and now it is 2,0 4g63
in the beginning i would like to say sorry for my language, english is not my native language soo please dont laugh ......to laud

I have lot of questions
basicly , starion cars are very rare in europe, and specialy in poland, I am great fan of mitsubishi cars , thats why I am really happy to have two mitsubishi but there is always few problems:

1.)in poland is realy hard to order any parts to starion, Iam lucky because my starion is in really good condition and there is no need to change any parts now. but I would like to know for future, is there is any problem to order some parts form your country and send them to europe?

2) is this possible to change sohc head and fit dohc in the same block?
3)where i can find CAPS to starion
4) how high can be cost of 4g63T engine? and what is a cost of send that heavy parts to poland ? mayby someone was trying to do this before?
5)who can recommend for me any link with the shop where I can check/order an buy parts to starion?

now Iam gonna show my own red stars of orion

Welcome to austarion. To answer your questions

1. You will find postage will be the biggest expense with shipping anything from australia.

2. If you search for vr4 and dohc in the search above you will find the answer to that question.

3. By caps do you mean the cap you wear on your head or something like a distributor cap?

4. Again shipping will most likely be the expensive factor with shipping an engine.

5. Redzone and flav on this forum sell starion parts, as for dohc engine parts meek.com.au seems to be well priced.
Starions are a disease, the only cure is poverty.

when I said CAPS , i was mean something like source of technical information about car.

there is a big probablity that imported parts can be extremelly expensive when they finally arrive to poland
cost of buyng + cost of shipping + and probablly sickly high tax in poland for parts imported from usa or from australia.
I have to find anyone who done this before and just ask

If there is only possibilyty to mix starion parts with parts of early evos then is very big chance that I will buy lot stuff in europe, specialy in Uk.

I just need to read all forum disscussions abaut it with the translator or dictionay :>

and there is of course one picture of my galant

a was only practicing with the airbrush on my car first time , Iam tattoist soo my car have to be painted like ovner :)
of course in future Iam gonna respray car into one solid color and then I will paint airbrush picture only on the front bonnet

cheers

if you want some parts for starions, you can always try www.starion-turbo.co.uk for the UK club. They can help you out a bit.

I think CAPS is a program that mitsi use to find part numbers and cross reference those part numbers to other cars that use the same part.....

Oh and nice widebody!!!

awesome car tommi! and love that 260 kph speedo :D

yes shipping is going to be expensive, although if its small parts u need then it wont be too bad, as the regular postal service can be used, as long as the parts are under 1.1metres and 20kg...

ps welcome to austarion! :beer

Hello again Tommi Gallants are front wheel drive so they will have narrow block motors (110 &310 bellhousing to block bolt centres ).
Starions are called wide blocks & the bolt centres are 130 &330
Non turbo motors dont have oil squirters that spray the underside of the pistons to aid cooling
Hope this helps
Cheers

Thanks for quick response, now everythink is clear for me.
Iam technicly noob, so first allways wanna ask before i buy something, I thouhgt that only difference between those engines is, that they are just invertet by 90degree.
I have galant and this car look like fast ride , but this car is only 109 hp, so this car isnt quick, for future Iam thinking about engine swap.
in october Iam going back to poland from UK, so to this time I must complete all necessery items to take them home :)

pictures of my slow ride :]

hi dude, where in the uk are you at the moment?

in the last few months ive seen loads of polish cars round here, tons of old school bmws and audis and some wicked golfs. always lowered and stuff.

polish people must like the roads round here or summat, unless they are english people that have brought them over but i doubt it.

tons of em, its well cool. :)
