My cousins have come over for a holiday to WA from melbourne, and I was logging on the austarion website when they seen the big pic saying in memory of adrian bylock.

My cousin (Shannon De lima 22 yo) was Adrians best freind throughout primary school at St. Johns in Mitcham. He was pretty shocked to hear he passed away -

If anyone here knows hes family, my cousin said to pass on his regards, he said it must be hard on them since Adrians father had passed away too.

Just goes to show what a small world it is!

Kim.

Motorist's night out led to death, jail

By Dan Silkstone
December 19, 2003

A disqualified driver with three prior drink-driving convictions was yesterday jailed for seven-and-a-half years for the alcohol-fuelled car crash that killed a young Mitcham man.

Anthony Di Nunzio, 32, was driving home from a Doncaster nightclub in the early hours of November 22 last year and was so intoxicated that he drove up an exit ramp towards oncoming traffic on the wrong side of the Eastern Freeway, Judge Roland Williams said.

Travelling at 75km/h, Di Nunzio slammed head-on into a car driven by Adrian Bylok, killing the 21-year-old Mitcham man instantly.

Mr Bylok's passenger, David Rowswell, also 21, was seriously injured.

Shortly afterwards tests revealed Di Nunzio had a blood alcohol reading of 0.181, almost four times the legal limit.

Judge Williams said Mr Bylok "never had a chance" to escape the oncoming vehicle.

Di Nunzio, of Mulgrave, was in the habit of entrusting his car keys to a friend whenever he went drinking, but on this occasion he regained his keys and ignored nightclub staff who tried to stop him driving away.

Di Nunzio pleaded guilty to five charges, including one count of culpable driving and one of negligently causing serious injury. He will serve a minimum of five years.

Outside court Mr Bylok's mother, Iga Bylok, described the decision as insulting. "He (Di Nunzio) had so many chances, so many warnings in the last few years and he didn't use them . . . the law allowed him to do what he did," she said.
