Anyone know a good DVD making prog?

Wanting to create a dvd (vob style) and have the ability to create menus etc from mpegs avis and maybe quicktime movs if possible. Anyone know a good prog or using one?

sony sonic dvd creator
used it for when i was into mini trucks
used digi handy cam, dumped footage on laptop, added menus, titles, music, etc etc
turned out like a bought mini truck dvd

nero is also good, basic but still very handy

yeh i was thinking nero as well, but thought it might be a bit too basic for what i wanted to do (loop menus, create seperate grouped videos on the disc etc) but it's pretty cheap.

Sonic, a U.S. corporation, is also a major player in selling DVD authoring tools. They previously manufactured computer based audio recording applications. They soon realized that at some point DVD recorders would become as widely available as CD recorders and that there was no affordable application for the home market or that DVD recorder makers could license as an OEM. At that time, all DVD authoring applications cost many thousands of dollars.

Sonic developed DVDit, an application that started selling below $500. It used only a small part of the whole DVD specification and it presented it in a form that didn't require any knowledge of internal DVD structure. This form become later the building block of many other simplified consumer DVD applications. The OEM licensing allowed Sonic to very soon become the major player.

I'm a fan of Adobe, and they list Encore as dvd authoring software, has anyone used it before?

state of the art technology! Force-sensing buttons! hehe, touch sensitive shell sounds cool though, but is it only one button pressing on the shell?
