Well i dont mean to call myself a dumb american. I just hear all of you talk about JA, JC, JD starquests. Im just curious what this means and also kinda curious to what distinguishes them unless one question answers another. Thanks to whoever replies.

Close mate, close.

Ok, australian delivered starions (no conquests over here) were designated as JA (82 to 84?) then JB (84- ) and around then around 60 JD's were made. In all only about 1650 starions were sold in australia.

'The JA's are bog stock base models, the most comon over here.

JB's had some extras, LSD better interior, headlight washers etc.

The JD's are the most desirble aussie models, being that only 62/3 were made. Also came out with 3.9 LSD, stock intercooler etc.

hope that helps :)

In other words, all flat-bodies with improvements/add-ons with each model.
All 2.0l motors with 4 stud rims up to 15". Last model was '86/early '87.

All models had LSD as an option...which were not usually taken up as they were pricey over here.

No wide-bodies sold here...just personal imports.

Nah, there is no equivilant model in aus. For starters, even the JD's werent 5 stud. Yours is just a NZ New model, i believe they may have offered the same options in europe.

JA`s (82-84) all had headlight washers, scoop bonnet, and the lsd was optional but u could tick the box all u wanted and your car would turn up with an open diff, as they had supply problems early on and we missed out until JB. as usual.. and they had the 14 inch alloy wheels.

JB (84-85) had an optional 3.5 LSD, 15 inch wheels, better interior, better wiring, more modern interior, front bumper with integrated fog lights, late model tail lights, flat bonnet, and a whole host of minor detail improvements

JD`s (86-87) had a molded front air dam, front bumper with integrated fog lights, flat bonnet, 15 inch wheels, wraparound rear spoiler (similar to the widebodies) cushy interior trim resembling a lounge chair, ran on unleaded fuel with cat converter, had the smaller tc05 turbo, intercooler, and only 110kw compared to the 125kw JA and JB. they used a factory standard 3.9 ratio diff to try and regain some acceleration back! JD`s are RARE as rocking horse shite! theres probably only about 30 still in existence over here..

starz, your car is what they refer to in japan as a JE, a 5stud narrowbody. similar to euro spec with that 260 kph speedo
