Ok... In my signature I have some blanks that need to need filled in...

???rwkw @ 15psi,
??.?? sec @ ??.?mph 1/4mile.

The car is coming together and is nearly ready for dyno tuning (and if it survives that then I'll put it down the quarter mile... )

The car 1985 JB Starion. LSD. (In full trim no bits removed to make it lighter)
Modifications
EMS 8860 Aftermarket Computer,
RB25 Turbo (off R33 Series 1 Skyline),
Camtech Stage 2,
Double Valve Springs,
Adjustable Cam Wheel,
Sonata MPI,
RX7 550cc Injectors,
VN Throttlebody,
M&W Twin Coil Packs,
600x300x76 FMIC,
3" Dump pipe,
Custom Exhaust Manifold (Steam Pipe with 1.75" ID runners),
Boost Controller,
Balance Shafts Eliminated,
On a old stock bottom end... (Fingers crossed she holds together :wtf: )

NOTE: Now a forged bottom end.

Guys,
Have a guess at what power it might (should) make at the wheels (at 15psi) and how quick it should be down the quarter mile...

I beleive the Turbo is going to let you down unfortunatly. If you want to predict your power, find the compressor flow map for it........turbo makes the power, everything else is just a restriction

//I tried to find the compressor map, but with no luck

Your turbo is the weakest link. I have been down that path before.

What dyno will it be on?

Ash, Dyno Dynamics...

I don't believe that there is a compressor flow map avaliable as the turbo is made by nissan and they haven't released that type of information on it. :(

Hopefully I'm wrong and someone will post a RB25 turbo compressor map :D

15 psi is beond the efficiency of the turbo

You'll lose power through the double valve springs, they're not needed in this application unless you're planning to move your redline significantly north... in which case you'd have forged the bottom end and changed to a better headgasket.

Skyline turbo's will run 15psi all day long, their efficiency range dies at about 18psi, but they'll still be blowing a lot of hot air. The turbo is sleeve bearing ceramic and probably won't last more than 20,000 kms before it starts to develop cracks. These turbo's HATE to be overboosted.

Power wise you could get anything from 10kw to 200kw at the wheels. It's nearly 100% dependent on who tunes it and which dyno. And as for 1/4 times... can you drive? How experienced are you at the 1/4 mile?

Toys, Entaran,

It's not like I'm going to hold you to it.
It just a bit of fun... It's interesting to see different peoples expectation of power and 1/4 mile time from a car with a list of mods.

digitalsko... you might want to try again... But thanks for your optimism. rofl

As far as tuning goes... AFR 12:1 when on boost and medium amount of timing. (Fairly experienced tuner but no he no Larry Perkins etc)

And for experience for driving the 1/4 mile. Well it no Top Doorslamer and I expect it to be a fairly mild ride as it's still a street car. But I am expecting consistant times... Any reasonable person should be able to get in it and get within 1 to 2 tenths of a second in variablility either way.

Everyone Have a guess... ! (I might actually give a prize to who gets closest to rwkw and 1/4 mile ET) :D :D :D

A fraction more than Barney's guess. 205 hp, 14.2 quarter. I figure you'll baby it a little.

Barney,

Thanks for your guess... But can you pick a number not a range ***190 - 200 rwhp**** It's not fair on the other guys :)

I'm guessing maybe 170rwkw, 13.7s... I just like the number 7.

I'm with Barney and Al! The turbo will let you down and the injectors are too small! You'll make 195bhp atw at most, maybe less!

14.4 1/4 mile!

Ok, then 169Kw atw. This will depend on the condition of your rings and ring lands but so be it

Quarter mile time of : 0secs as I'm sure the bottom end will suffer a failure at that power level before you get it to the track :P
