A little trivia about Rice.

Post by Camotec »

Hey guys,

Rice Boy first came from America back in the early 80's when Hotrodding was at a peak and american muscle was almost a religion. When a Hotrodder saw a guy in a car other than an american car he was a rice boy because his car was made in either Japan or Korea.

When it made its way to Australia a short number of years back the definition was skewed and anyone trying to be somthing they aren't eg "I am talking to you ya N13 Pulsar with GTR badging i saw in parklea carpark" or someone doing the dodgy to get quick looks by cutting their spings or having unhooked up subs in the boot for showing off in a carpark.

There is a difference to making your car look good and being rice.
So by actual past meaning of it we are all rice boys and girls hehe.

This ones for you Kelfy :) :beer

Cheers.

I don't think so, i think it is like if it ain't a holden or a ford heh, don't ask me why ford cause its american owned (try telling that to a major ford buff without causing conflict) (actually then again holden is also now owned by GM in America) but i think it was any Japanese car being that they are Rice Eaters etc. probably a little racist but in the time... uno how it was.

I'm glad to be driving rice! It looks better, goes better, and is more exclusive than some of the other crap on the road!
Of course, I get sick of seeing other certain rice-mobiles too.
I think about half of the R33 Skylines ever made reside in Perth!
Not to mention, all of the Silvia's (how embarassing to have a car named the same as an old lady's name!), 180sx's, and wrx's here!

Me like Japanese...

food! : )

I think I remember hearing it was referring to their little japanese engines running on rice... ie. rice burners... cause those big yan-keeee in-gins used so much gaas baab.
