Post by typer »

Hello, my name is Birkir, and i come from iceland !
And sorry my bad english

I've just bougt MMC Starion 2.0L Intercooler Turbo 1987 yesterday!
Its white, non wide body, black interiour leather in great condition!

There is something wrong with the engine !
The guy i bought it from said it just stop running on trip... (on riding)
He said that the timing belt had popped off because overcollected oil..
And the Ballance shaft belt had break ! (rip, cut)

And I was told that its best to geld the ballance shafts with some kit...

But AnyWayyy... I Need two things bougt!

Image

1. I Need this black grill (right fender and the middle, the left one was fine)

2. I need the lower front bumper !

Anyone that have one or know where to get one ?
Anyone who knows what is wrong with my engine ?

Sounds like you have a seized balance shaft/s. Take off the front timing cover and see if the balance shaft move freely. You can get a balance shaft elimination kit to remove the balance shafts.

However, if it is a seized balance shaft problem then you may have done some other damage such as metal shavings in the sump, and/or low oil pressure damage.

A new timing belt might be helpful too.

Does the engine at least turn over?

Do you have spark?

Do you have fuel?

Is the timing correct?

The picture is hard to make out but is the spark plug electrode missing?

If so it could be due to severe detonation.
Could be too much boost or too much timing advance or lean fuel mixtures.

It may have caused some piston/ring damage too.

-Get all new plugs.
-Check if the injectors are firing by looking into the throttle body while someone tries starting it.. You should see fuel spraying down
-Check all connections around the motor.. something may be loose or not connected
-Do a compression test to see if there is major damage to the motor.
-Adjust timing

Looks like something hit that spark plug nicely.

Are all the turbo compressor blades still attached to the turbo?
